SMCKC Member Benefits
As a member of the Social Media Club of Kansas City, you will…

  • Network and collaborate with other industry professionals. SMCKC has events monthly which give you the opportunity to connect with some of the best and brightest social media minds in KC. We host monthly breakfasts on the 1st Friday of each month. Come to our events to connect and build a trusted network of social media peers.

  • Get the chance to bolster your leadership skills. The SMCKC board and committees are made up of volunteers who give their time to curate the vibrant social media community that is SMCKC. We have leadership positions available within our chapter that allow our members to learn, lead, and gain added attention in the business community. Committees are in place for Events, Communications, Membership & Advocacy.

    • Events Committee: Members on the events committee help plan events, finding venues & contacting speakers. Committee members also help check people in and coordinate event day operations.

    • Communications Committee: The communications committee helps get the word out about SMCKC. Committee members tweet, post on Facebook, instagram & LinkedIn, create Eventbrite events, write content for blog posts, build and send emails. The communications committee is great to further develop social media management skills.

    • Membership Committee: If you’re looking to meet people and know who is who, the Membership Committee is for you. Membership committee members update email lists, recruit new members and send out and aggregate information from event surveys.

  • Have opportunities to showcase your knowledge and build your portfolio. Members are invited to write on the SMCKC blog on social media and local topics. Members are also invited to contribute their expertise by presenting at breakfasts. If you’re interested in presenting, contact the events team at events@smckc.com.
